How to Manually Configure Exchange or Microsoft 365 Account in Outlook 365/2019/2016?

To manually configure an Exchange or Microsoft 365 account in Outlook, follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook and click on the File tab.
  2. Click on the Account Settings button and select Account Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the Account Settings window, click on the New button under the Email tab.
  4. Select Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
  5. Select Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service and click Next.
  6. Enter your Exchange or Microsoft 365 account information, including your name, email address, and password.
  7. In the Server Information section, select the Exchange Server option and enter the server name provided by your IT administrator or service provider.
  8. Under User Information, enter your username in the format domain\username. If you’re unsure of your username, contact your IT administrator or service provider.
  9. Click on the More Settings button.
  10. In the Microsoft Exchange window, click on the Security tab and select the Encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange option.
  11. Click on the Connection tab and select the Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP option.
  12. Click on the Exchange Proxy Settings button and enter the server name provided by your IT administrator or service provider in the Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange field.
  13. Select the checkbox for both On fast networks and On slow networks.
  14. Click OK to close the Microsoft Exchange window.
  15. Click Next to test the account settings.
  16. If the test is successful, click on the Finish button to complete the setup.
