Whenever the Apple Mail user gets the need to transfer emails to other platform like Windows Outlook, there is a need for MBOX to PST conversion<\/a>. First of all, you should try to know about MBOX and Outlook PST file.<\/p>\n

About MBOX file:<\/strong>\u00a0 MBOX file is primarily associated with Mac Operating systems like Thunderbird, AppleMail, Entourage, Eudora, Spicebird, Netscape, Pocomail, Mozillamail, OperaMail etc. It is an email storage format, which is used to organize your email messages in a single text file. At times of usage of Apple Mail in Mac operating systems, MBOX file can be located here \u201c\/User\/Library\/Mail\/Mailboxes\/ directory\u201d.<\/p>\n

About Outlook PST file:<\/strong>\u00a0 Outlook PST file is also known as Personal Storage Table and Outlook Data File. Outlook items like email messages, calendar, tasks, and other items that are saved on your computer, and kept in PST file format.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, there are several third party present in web that can help you to convert Apple Mail data to Windows Outlook, but I would like to introduce here a manual method to do this conversion task successfully.<\/p>\n

For a manual MBOX to PST conversion process<\/a><\/strong>, it is necessary to download and install an e-mail client that supports the import\/export function. If you have done this installation process, then you can follow the bellow steps.<\/p>\n

1.Open Apple mail application<\/p>\n

2.Select\u00a0 Import Mailboxes option from the file menu at the top of the screen From \u201cImport Data<\/p>\n

3.From window, select the Other option and then click \u201cContinue\u201d<\/p>\n

4.Select the Choose option, and then select the entire set of MBOX files which you want to export.<\/p>\n

5.Click on Continue<\/p>\n

6.Wait for the file(s) to import, and then go back to Apple Mail.<\/p>\n

Now the following steps need to be performed in Outlook.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.Change the name of the MBOX file to \u201cfilename.mbx\u201d.<\/p>\n

2.Transfer this file to new location in the newly installed e-mail client.<\/p>\n

3.Start the new e-mail client.<\/p>\n

4.Double click the MBOX file.<\/p>\n

5.Close the e-mail client.<\/p>\n

6.Open Outlook Express<\/p>\n

7.Click File<\/p>\n

8.Goto Import<\/p>\n

9.Goto Messages<\/p>\n

10.In Messages option click the newly installed e-mail client.<\/p>\n

11.Click Next.<\/p>\n

12.Browse for the MBOX file<\/p>\n

13.Then click OK<\/p>\n

14.Click Next<\/p>\n

15.Click Next<\/p>\n

16.Click Finish<\/p>\n

17.Start MS Outlook<\/p>\n

18.Click File<\/p>\n

19.Goto Open section<\/p>\n

20.Goto Import section<\/p>\n

21.Goto Import Internet Mail and Addresses<\/p>\n

22.Click Next<\/p>\n

23.Check the Import Mail checkbox<\/p>\n

24.From the options displayed select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail<\/p>\n

25.Click Next<\/p>\n
