Manual Way to Restore a .BKF File Using NTBackup

It is important step to create backup for the maintaining their data to be safe and protected from the accidental failure or damage BKF files. Data loss can happen due to a variety of reasons such as Hardware failure, Software failure, Virus attacks and much more. Most users make use of the Windows XP NTBackup Utility to create backups. The file format which saves the entire data is known as BKF file.

The manual method of restore BKF file:

  • Just download nt5backup.cab from internet
  • Extract the files inside the cabinet file to a folder of your choice.
  • Right-click NTBackup.exe and select Run as Administrator.
  • NTBackup will indicate that Removable Storage service (removed in Windows Vista & higher). No problem! This is required for tape backups and then clicks OK.
  • In the Welcome to Backup or Restore Wizard page, click on the Next
  • Choose Restore files and settings, click Next
  • Click Browse where locate the .BKF file that you want to restore, and click OK.
  • Expand the catalog, select the files/folders you want to restore, click Next.
  • Click the Advanced button
  • Select Alternate location from the dropdown, and mention the destination path.
  • Arrange the restore options so.
  • Click Next, and then click Finish.
  • At last bkf file is restored now

Note:

  • This procedure works in Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10, not works with all window versions.
  • The method is takes a lot of time during procedure.
  • And as well there is the complexity to execute it.
