How to Restore Deleted Emails Within 24 Hours in Microsoft Office Outlook

by Todd Bowerman

Microsoft’s Outlook is a powerful email organization tool, but all the features in the world can’t prevent the occasional user error. When you have dozens of messages flooding your inbox, it’s easy to click the wrong mail and send it tumbling into your digital trashcan. If you happen to accidentally delete an important message or an email you haven’t quite read yet, you can recover it with a quick visit to the “Deleted Items” folder. This folder stores your deleted messages until it is cleared, and requires no third-party backup software or complicated tuning.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2013.

2. Click the “Deleted Items” folder on the left-hand side of the application.

3. Drag the item you wish to undelete from the “Deleted Items” folder to your inbox or another folder.
